Happy Veteran’s day to the soldiers & their families, military veterans and war veterans….thank you for all your sacrifices; the blood, sweat, tears, your losses and your gains, and for your dreams of a better life for yourselves, your families, and the world. I am forever in your debt. You deserve more than just one day in dedication to you. May God Bless you all, always.
Happy Veteran’s day to my brother, my cousins, my uncles, my friends, and of course, to my other half. Love you all…I’m very fortunate to be surrounded by Heroes.

A site catered to winning free shit…I like it. Sponsors hook up with Uncle Louie to put their companies on blast by giving you, the fans and the average joe, a chance to win free shit from them. A win-win situation if you ask me.

I realize that I’ve been real sucky at updating my own blog no matter how excited I am to share my work with you..this is my attempt at playing catch up. Well…a lame attempt but still an attempt. Enjoy!
My first project to launch under Uncle Louie Media was for the Fat Boys charity event, cleverly entitled “Fat Boys Fest,” scheduled to go down next year in May 14, 2010. It’s a star studded event that will take place at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Miami. Benefits from this event will go to Prince Markie Dee’s Labor of Love Foundation, Susan G. Komen for the Cure, and Alex’s Lemonade Stand for Children with Cancer. If you go to the site you will see that a simple donation of $50 will get you into the hottest party in Miami along with goodies worth over $200. Sounds good to me! Hopefully I’ll see some of you there…I’m makin an entire trip out of it. Even more excited since Uncle Louie just announced an Old School Show happening that same weekend, featuring JJ Fad and the Fat Boys!
On the design aspect…this was very much a tight deadline project…well…what project isn’t on a tight deadline right? ( my designer friends know whassup). I wanted this site to be as aesthetically fun and pleasing as my time and artistic vision allowed. My style is usually clean with a splash of color and street flair. I wanted to keep it simple, fun, and to reflect the fun that would be had at the event. Anyway, here’s a screenshot.

Recieved some goodies in the mail the other day…
A stack of the completed second project from Navery entitled, ALEXANDRIA GRAY: Somewhere to go (EP)!
She is a beautiful singer with an incredibly soulful sound…personally reminds me of the smoothness of Amel and the soul of Goapele, with her own personal touch of style and strength to it. Sounds like an unbelievable comparison but yet I sense a bit of skepticism from you…here…take a listen… http://www.myspace.com/naverymusic …..
I told you! Now, I definitely think you will hear more and see more from her. Great talent is never a well kept secret. It’s too tempting to not share…so spread the word!
Now the beats behind the vocals are due to the skillful and ever so talented DJ deedot for Dusty Fingerz Productions…check him out: http://www.myspace.com/deedot . In this project, he puts together a soulful composition to which you can either lounge or groove to. Either way, you will find yourself immersed in a rhytmic world of both beautifully produced music and sound.
Oh yeah…and I worked on the art
I enjoyed working with both deedot and Navery…cool folks. Don’t hesitate to hit me up again guys!
Thanks again.
*If you would like your own copy of Alexandria Gray: Somewhere to Go, you can cop it digitally at www.deedot.com or right through DJ deedot at djdeedot@gmail.com.

For a long time, before the ink world was blasted on shows like Miami Ink and La Ink ( which I still LOVE), I always thought that I wouldn’t be so bad as a tattoo artist… in fact, I worked pretty hard at my steady hand. The more time that passed by, the older myself and my friends got, and more of them got tatted. Some were great, some not so great. The not so great ones made me want to design their tats and even go as far as wanting to do the damn job myself. Then I got to thinking that maybe having my artwork on someone, especially since it was evolving so much, wouldn’t be a good idea. I’d look back and think, man I did that? I could do so much better than that now, haha! Well, over time I’ve been reassured by my friends that it wouldn’t be the case. If I took every offer to design tattoos I would probably make enough to call it a job. I’ve turn down many and some I would attempt…I think I’ve only gotten myself to do two in the last ten years because of some very persuasive folks. Reason for my post today is that I decided to finally go for it and see if this is something I’d like to continue to do…customizing tattoo designs. Not just regular flash that will be used over and over. I’m designing a tattoo for someone very close, so I am going to work damn hard on it. It’s detailed and classic. I know that some tattoo artists don’t like to tattoo other peoples work…but if it is good enough for a stencil, then I know it makes it a lot easier. I actually think it’s better than a customer coming in with a doodle they made and wanting that exact doodle tatted on them…then years later regretting it. I will post the finished design after she gets it on her…let me know what you think.. ‘Til next time.
PS. Sorry for the lack of post. I’m not much of a blogger when it gets busy..maybe I should make a shift for myself…
life breeds art,
